OpSource Staffing is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist for a precision manufacturing company in Duncan, SC!
We are looking for a skilled machinist with hands-on experience in SolidWorks CAM programming, Haas CNC milling machines, and precision machining.
This position is ideal for someone who can independently program, set up, and operate CNC equipment while producing high-quality components to exact engineering specifications.
This is a programming and setup position, not an entry-level CNC operator role.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, program, and optimize CNC machining programs using SolidWorks CAM.
- Generate, simulate, and post-process 3-axis CNC milling toolpaths.
- Set up and operate Haas CNC 3-axis vertical machining centers.
- Perform tool changes and adjust work offsets, tool offsets, and cutting parameters.
- Read, edit, and troubleshoot G-code directly at the Haas machine controller.
- Optimize machining programs to improve cycle times, accuracy, and production efficiency.
- Operate manual lathes and milling machines to produce precision components.
- Select and install cutting tools, vises, fixtures, and workholding equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications.
- Calculate machining dimensions and tolerances using advanced shop math.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Perform routine quality inspections to ensure parts meet engineering specifications.
- Maintain equipment and follow all workplace safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous CNC programming and machining experience required.
- Experience programming CNC milling operations using SolidWorks CAM.
- Hands-on experience setting up and operating Haas CNC milling machines.
- Strong understanding of 3-axis milling operations, tooling, and machining processes.
- Ability to read, edit, and troubleshoot G-code.
- Experience reading blueprints and interpreting GD&T requirements.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and tight tolerances.
- Knowledge of manual machining equipment, including lathes and mills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, advanced shop math, and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high-quality production standards.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate's degree in Machine Tool Technology or equivalent technical training and experience preferred.
