Overview
Join our team as a Landscaper/Groundskeeper and play a vital role in maintaining an estate in the historic Chestnut Hill area. We are currently seeking a full time, seasonal groundskeeper who will assist the Head Gardener in maintaining the lawn and gardens of the private estate. This position offers the opportunity to work outdoors, applying your skills in high end landscape maintenance and lawn care industry, to help maintain a stunning landscape, filled with historic trees and gardens. Responsibilities
- Perform the mowing, trimming and maintenance of the estates lawn
- Support the estate maintenance team with planting, weeding, spring and fall clean up and other various landscape tasks throughout the season
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping projects
- Maintain equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and other machinery through routine inspections and communication when repairs are needed
- Ensure all landscape projects adhere to safety standards and client specifications
Qualifications
- Strong ability to operate various landscaping machinery and hand tools confidently
- Experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, and gardening practices
- Knowledge of horticulture principles for plant health, especially in lawn care
- Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling of various landscape equipment and materials (i.e. leaf vacuums, walker mowers, backpack blowers, wheel barrows etc.)
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail to ensure high-quality workmanship on all projects
- Willingness to learn new skills related to landscaping, construction, or equipment operation
- Reliable transportation required. Conveniently located near green line T station.
This position is full time, seasonal from March - December, but winter work is available for the right candidate. This position is best suited to a person with an energetic, positive personality and strong work ethic, who is self-motivated, with a high attention to detail, efficient time management and able to work well with others. The successful candidate will participate in the grounds care, ensuring high standards for the ground’s appearance.
