Job Details:

\n

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
\n • Patient population includes adults to geriatrics
\n • Required certifications: BLS and OCN
\n • Chemo certifications (ONS, OCN, ONCC) required only if performing chemo role; not required if performing as MS RN
\n • Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
\n • Unit consists of 19 beds with an average daily census of 15
\n • Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis and SBAR
\n • Scrub color: Navy Blue
\n • Work every other weekend
\n • No call requirements
\n • Floating required within facility and possibly to a sister campus approximately 3 miles away
\n • Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
\n • Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
\n • Self-scheduling type
\n • 24 orientation hours required
\n • Previous charge experience preferred
\n • Community hospital experience preferred
\n • Skills required include: accessing/managing ports, administration of blood and blood products, administration of chemotherapy, body fluid handling post-chemotherapy, care and management of ports, central line/implanted line care, inpatient oncology, monitoring chemotherapy, and neutropenic precautions
\n • Special procedures include: chemo precautions, morphine drips, dilaudid drips, CADD pumps, and PCA pumps
\n • Special equipment includes: CADD, PCA, Sara Steady, and Maxi Sky
\n • Patient diagnoses include: oncology diagnoses from diagnosis to death, hematology diagnoses, DNR/CC, oncologic emergencies, and occasional off-service patients
\n • Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
