Job Description
Winget, Spadafora & Schwartzberg, LLP is seeking an Associate Attorney with 6+ years of litigation experience to join its headquarters in New York City. NY bar admission required for diverse practice including professional liability, securities litigation, medical malpractice, labor & employment and insurance broker liability.
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice in New York (New Jersey admission a plus)
- 6+ years of experience
- Court appearances and deposition experience required
- Experience drafting summary judgment motions and other dispositive motions
- Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures
Responsibilities
- Regularly handling court appearances and depositions
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions
- Handling discovery, including drafting demands, analyzing responses and reviewing/digesting document productions
- Conducting Legal Research
- Working closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects and assignments
- Reporting to clients and carriers on the status of each matter

- Strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
- Position requires strong knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures
- Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines, effectively prioritize multiple tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
- Recognize confidential, sensitive, and proprietary information and maintain such information as confidential

This position is considered full-time and therefore qualifies for benefits including 401(k) retirement savings plan, medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
Salary Range:
$150,000 - $160,000 USD (not including bonus)
