Litigation Legal Secretary – Civil Litigation
Location: Rockford, IL
Pay: $60,000 - $90,000, based on experience

A respected national law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to join their team in Rockford, Illinois. This full-time opportunity is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in civil litigation who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support attorneys through all stages of litigation

  • Draft, format, and e-file legal documents in both state and federal courts

  • Manage court deadlines, attorney calendars, and hearing schedules

  • Maintain and organize legal files, both electronic and hard copy

  • Assist with trial prep including creation of exhibits and trial binders

  • Interact with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in a professional manner

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant in civil litigation

  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court filing systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal document management software

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability
