Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our team. This role is crucial in providing excellent customer service, accurately processing transactions, and assisting customers with purchases in the lumber and building materials store. The Retail Cashier will ensure efficient checkout operations while maintaining a positive shopping experience for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing: Accurately handle cash, credit, and electronic payments while maintaining proper cash drawer balancing.
  • Customer Assistance: Provide knowledgeable support to customers, answering questions about lumber, hardware, and building materials.
  • Pricing & Inventory Control: Ensure correct pricing on products and monitor stock levels for retail merchandise.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain transaction accuracy and generate reports as needed.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow company policies regarding cash handling, workplace safety, and store procedures.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with store associates, floor supervisors, and management to coordinate customer needs.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience: Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
  • Customer Service Skills: Friendly and professional approach when assisting customers.
  • Accuracy & Attention to Detail: Strong ability to process transactions correctly and efficiently.
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of lumber, hardware, and building materials is a plus.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain a clean and efficient checkout area.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally assist with light stocking duties.
