Job Title: Field Technician
💲 Pay: $22/hour
✈️ Travel Required: Yes (local metro area)
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Field Technician to support infrastructure and reconstruction projects across the metro area. This role focuses on performing on-site inspections and locating underground utilities before excavation begins.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, collaborating with team members, and learning technical field skills in a growing industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections at various job sites throughout the metro area
- Travel daily to different project locations (local travel required)
- Transport and operate specialized equipment to locate underground utilities (sewer and water systems)
- Accurately mark utility locations both physically on-site and digitally using software tools
- Document findings and communicate data to internal office teams
- Assist in updating maps, blueprints, and system records based on collected data
- Work collaboratively with a partner technician on daily assignments
Required Qualifications
- 0–1 year of experience in:
- Utility locating
- Surveying
- Telecom, cable, or GIS-related work
- Ability to travel locally and perform field-based work daily
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn technical equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience reading or working with maps, blueprints, or GIS systems
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Experience in hands-on or physically active roles
Work Environment
- Daily travel within the metro area
- Outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions
- Team-based fieldwork (paired with another technician)
- Typical start time: 7:00 AM from Woodbury office

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
