We are hiring a Windows Systems Administrator – Level II to support a mission-critical Insider Threat Detection (ITD) program for the U.S. Department of the Treasury. This position works inside a fully classified environment and focuses on system administration, Insider Threat tool operations, system monitoring, and Tier III support for UAM (User Activity Monitoring) platforms.
You’ll support the technical backbone of Treasury’s Insider Threat Program ensuring secure operations, forensic readiness, and continuous monitoring within a highly controlled Windows enterprise.
This role is 100% on-site in a SCIF.
Only candidates with an ACTIVE Top Secret clearance and SCI eligibility will be considered.
What You’ll Do
Windows Systems Administration
- Manage and maintain Windows Server systems supporting Insider Threat Detection tools.
- Perform patching, updates, secure configuration, and hardening.
- Conduct system health checks, service validation, and troubleshooting (Tier III level).
Insider Threat Technical Operations
- Support User Activity Monitoring (UAM) platforms and associated security monitoring tools.
- Deploy, validate, and troubleshoot monitoring agents.
- Review system logs, alerts, and anomalies to support investigations.
Forensics & Security Support
- Assist with forensic collection and analysis as directed by senior security staff.
- Support incident response activities and prepare technical findings when required.
- Ensure system configurations adhere to federal security frameworks (NIST 800-53, CNSSI 1253).
System Improvements & Engineering Support
- Contribute to updates, enhancements, and troubleshooting of Insider Threat systems.
- Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
- Assist with fault-tolerant configurations, backups, and recovery operations.
Reporting
- Provide daily system health updates and monitoring status.
- Contribute to monthly uptime, system performance, and program reports.
On-Call Requirement
- Provide after-hours or weekend support if mission needs require it.
- Must be able to report on-site in emergencies.
What You Must Have
Required
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility (this is mandatory).
- Hands-on experience as a Windows Systems Administrator in a secure or enterprise environment.
- Experience with system monitoring, log analysis, or Insider Threat / security tools.
- Working knowledge of PowerShell (diagnostics, automation, or admin scripting).
- Experience with patching, updates, and Windows system hardening.
- Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks.
Preferred
- Experience supporting Insider Threat, SOC, or UAM capabilities.
- Exposure to forensic processes or investigative workflows.
- Docker / Kubernetes or containerization experience.
- Security certifications (Security+, CySA+, CEH, CISSP).
- Experience working inside a SCIF or classified facility.
