Team Lead
Shift & Schedule
- Training Period: 1st Shift (hours vary based on training needs)
- Regular Shift: 2nd Shift after completion of training
- Schedule Flexibility Required during onboarding and cross-training period
The Team Lead is responsible for leading daily kitting operations during second shift to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient assembly of kits for production and customer orders. The role requires initial training on first shift and flexibility in work hours until fully trained and transitioned to second shift operations. This position serves as a working lead and a key communication link between management and bilingual team members. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Complete hands-on training on 1st shift, learning kitting processes, systems, quality standards, and safety procedures
- Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling during training and transition period
- Lead and support the kitting team during 2nd shift operations after training
- Assign daily work, prioritize orders, and balance workloads to meet production schedules
- Perform hands-on kitting, packaging, labeling, and material preparation as needed
- Communicate work instructions, expectations, and safety requirements in English and Spanish
- Train and mentor team members on kitting procedures and quality standards
- Ensure kits are accurate, complete, and labeled per work orders and BOMs
- Conduct quality checks and address discrepancies promptly
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and workflow issues; escalate concerns as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area (5S standards)
- Coordinate with inventory, shipping, and production teams to resolve shortages
- Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and SOPs
- Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and documentation
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- Willingness and availability to train on 1st shift and maintain flexible hours during onboarding
- 1–3 years of experience in kitting, warehouse, manufacturing, or production environments
- Prior lead, senior operator, or team coordination experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read and follow work orders, pick lists, and instructions
- Basic computer and system navigation skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Preferred
- Experience in graphic systems, printing, or packaging environments
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S principles
- Forklift or material handling equipment experience
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting throughout the shift
- Manual handling of materials, boxes, and finished kits
Work Environment
- Manufacturing / warehouse setting
- Exposure to noise and moving equipment
- PPE required as designated
