Feed Mill Production 2nd Shift
Job Summary:
Oracle Pork Nutrition (OPN) is seeking motivated individuals to join our general production team at our new integrated feed mill operation in Peru, Indiana. We are looking for experienced grain/feed mill operators and general production team members to work in our state-of-the-art facility. As an hourly production team member, you will ensure the production of quality products in a safe and efficient manner. We are a growing feed mill operation and are looking for people who are ready to take on a challenging yet rewarding position.
This position works Monday through Friday, including some Saturdays. Second shift hours are 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with other team members to meet daily goals
- Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
- Ensure production requirements and standards are met consistently
- Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality
- Inspect ingredients and products to ensure quality and specifications are met
- Adhere to all safety guidelines when handling of materials in facility
- Report any issues or problems with production to supervisor
- Operate machinery correctly and maintain it with care
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
- Perform other duties as needed or required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Ability to multi-task in a work a fast-paced environment
- Previous machine/grain milling equipment operation experience is a plus
- Willing to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments
- Commitment to follow safety policies and practices and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Capable of performing the physical requirements of the position, including standing for extended periods of time, repetitive motions and lifting a weight of 60 pounds or higher when required.
- Willingness to attend classes and training as needed
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions on the site including exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in cold, hot, and outdoor conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects up to 60 lbs., walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arms and fingers, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent stamina and vision.

This production position earns a competitive starting wage of $18.36 per hour while in training. Training will be in the first shift. Once trained and qualified, the team member will transition to the second shift with a pay of $20.66 per hour.

Oracle Pork Nutrition is a division of Indiana Packers Corporation. Our mission is to provide high-quality livestock feed to the hog suppliers in our Oracle Pork network. To that end, we purchase corn from farmers throughout north-central Indiana.
