Job DescriptionThe Senior Systems Administrator is a senior technical individual contributor responsible for the design, deployment, support, and continuous improvement of client IT environments within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) model. This role serves as an escalation point for complex systems and networking issues, supports client onboarding and presales efforts, and provides technical leadership to service desk and advanced support teams. This position operates in a fast‑paced, multi‑client environment and requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance reactive support, proactive engineering, and project work while meeting defined SLAs. This role includes technical leadership responsibilities but does not include direct people management.At Zirrus, we believe great technology starts with great people.   • Act as a senior escalation point for advanced systems, networking, and infrastructure incidents and problems.Own incidents and problems from escalation through root cause analysis and resolution, coordinating with Service Desk, vendors, and internal teams as needed.
  • Perform advanced administration and support of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage, backup, and security platforms.
  • Actively respond to and remediate alerts generated by RMM and network monitoring systems; continuously improve monitoring and alerting to meet or exceed SLAs.
  • Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule and provide after‑hours support as required.

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of systems and/or network administration experience, with at least 2+ years in a senior escalation role.

Experience supporting multiple client environments in a Managed Services Provider or similar environment preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in IT, relevant certifications, or equivalent hands‑on experience.

Demonstrated experience with:

Microsoft 365 administration and migrations

On‑prem to cloud migrations (Exchange, infrastructure)

Enterprise networking (routing, switching, firewalls, Wi‑Fi)

Azure infrastructure design and management

Experience working in an ITIL‑aligned team preferred.

Azure Solutions Architect or other industry‑recognized certifications preferred.

Valid driver’s license required.
