Role Description The School Bus Driver role at Paint Valley Local Schools is a full-time, on-site position based in Bainbridge, OH. The driver is responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, field trips, and approved activities, following assigned routes and schedules. Daily tasks include conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, maintaining a clean and orderly vehicle, and adhering to all traffic laws and district safety policies. The driver monitors student behavior on the bus, fosters a respectful and secure environment, and communicates effectively with school staff, parents/guardians, and transportation administrators as needed. The role may also involve completing basic documentation, reporting incidents, and participating in required trainings or safety drills.

- Candidates should possess safe driving skills, including Truck Driving experience and strong Defensive Driving practices.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills and a customer-focused approach to interacting with students, families, and staff.
- Candidates should possess a valid CDL Class B (with appropriate school bus and passenger endorsements, or willingness to obtain as required).
- Candidates should possess a commitment to student safety, reliability in attendance and punctuality, and the ability to follow route instructions and safety procedures.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior school bus or commercial driving experience, a clean driving record, ability to pass background checks and drug screenings, and willingness to complete ongoing training and certification requirements.
