Switchgear Design Specialist
Job Description
1. Product R&D & Design
Independently undertake the full scope of design work for medium and low-voltage switchgear, including scheme conceptualization, structural layout optimization, 3D solid modeling, engineering drawing compilation, and bill of materials (BOM) formulation with high precision.
2. Technical Standard Compliance & Application
Conduct in-depth research and precise application of North American technical standards and specifications such as UL, ANSI, and IEEE. Ensure that all product designs fully meet the certification criteria required for market access, eliminating compliance risks in the North American market.
3. Electrical Component Selection & Evaluation
Proficient in performing selection calculations, technical performance evaluations, and supplier comparative analysis for key electrical components (including circuit breakers, contactors, relays, and current transformers). Balance product performance, cost control, and long-term operational reliability to meet project requirements.
4. Cost Estimation & Quotation Support
Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide rapid and accurate material cost estimates based on preliminary design schemes. Deliver technically competitive quotation support to enhance the project's market competitiveness and accelerate project implementation.
5. Full Lifecycle Technical Support
Participate in the entire product lifecycle, spanning from concept design, prototyping, certification testing, to mass production. Resolve technical issues promptly during each phase, and provide professional after-sales technical support to ensure stable product operation.
Job Requirements
• Education & Major
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechanical Design, or related disciplines. Advanced academic qualifications or professional certifications in power distribution systems are preferred.
• Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in power distribution product or electrical equipment design, with a proven track record of independently leading and delivering complete design projects from initiation to completion.
• Design Competencies
◦ Master medium and low-voltage power distribution systems and cabinet body structures, with a comprehensive understanding of mainstream products and cutting-edge technologies in the global power distribution industry.
◦ Skilled in creating detailed engineering drawings, including electrical schematic diagrams and cabinet layout drawings, with strict adherence to industry design norms.
◦ Proficient in using 3D CAD software for solid modeling, assembly design, and engineering drawing output, ensuring design accuracy and manufacturability.
◦ Possess extensive experience in component selection calculations, with a thorough grasp of the performance parameters and selection logic of various commonly used low-voltage electrical components.
