Salary: $125,000 - $135,000/year

Work Location: This position will be primarily remote, with the possibility of on-site work requirements up to and including eventual return-to-office.

The Nessus SME provides expert-level support for the Tenable Nessus vulnerability management platform, ensuring accurate scanning, risk prioritization, and remediation guidance across all client systems.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Lead vulnerability scanning, analysis, and reporting using the Tenable Nessus platform.
• Develop scanning strategies for enterprise, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Analyze scan results to identify vulnerabilities, compliance issues, and misconfigurations.
• Provide remediation recommendations and risk assessments to ISSOs and system owners.
• Develop dashboards, metrics, and custom reports to communicate findings.
• Stay current on Tenable/Nessus updates, plugins, and vulnerability detection methods.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience with 3+ years as a Nessus SME.
• Expert knowledge of vulnerability management processes and Tenable tool suite.
• Experience integrating Nessus with enterprise SIEM/CDM platforms.
• Familiarity with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, and federal vulnerability management requirements.

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret clearance required.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
