We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Architect to provide hands-on technical leadership across a complex Salesforce implementation built on and extended through managed packages. This role is fully delivery-focused and embedded within the account, responsible for ensuring architectural integrity, system performance, and long-term scalability.
Experience within the travel or transportation sectors is strongly preferred.

This is a 2-month initial engagement with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority for the account, owning end-to-end architecture across Salesforce, integrations, managed packages, and supporting services.
  • Translate detailed business and operational requirements into scalable, performant technical solutions.
  • Produce and maintain technical architecture artefacts including sequence diagrams, integration patterns, data models, and platform configuration standards.
  • Provide hands-on guidance across development, configuration, and system design; unblock engineering teams and ensure technical decisions align with established architecture.
  • Support the extension and optimisation of managed packages, including upgrade planning, compatibility assessments, dependency management, and change-impact analysis.
  • Ensure the solution meets enterprise standards for security, scalability, and reliability.
  • Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and assessments of existing implementations.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and work with engineering teams on remediation and optimisation.
  • Maintain architectural governance for the account, ensuring changes follow agreed processes and do not introduce technical debt.
  • Work closely with product owners, delivery managers, and customer stakeholders to align technical decisions with operational goals.
  • Lead technical workshops to validate requirements, refine solution approaches, and guide implementation teams.
  • Provide technical mentorship to developers and admins working on the account.
  • Act as the escalation point for complex technical challenges, integration issues, and platform constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system design, simplify processes, and enhance resilience.
  • Advise on future platform evolution, including managed package extensions, integration enhancements, and data strategy.
  • Contribute reusable patterns, documentation, and best practices to improve delivery effectiveness across the team.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Proven experience in a hands-on Salesforce Technical Architect or Senior Technical Lead role. Previous experience as a developer is required.
  • Strong expertise working with and extending Salesforce managed packages, including understanding of packaging constraints, licensing, upgrade paths, and extension patterns.
  • Deep practical experience with integrations, APIs, data modelling, security, and platform limits.
  • Significant background in complex delivery environments, ideally in industries with operational complexity such as travel, transportation, or hospitality.
  • Ability to lead technical workshops and collaborate effectively with engineering teams, product teams, and client stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
  • Minimum five years working in Salesforce delivery for an SI, ISV, PDO, or within a large multi-cloud Salesforce programme.
  • Salesforce architect-level certifications (Application Architect, System Architect, or related).
  • Platform Developer I or II
  • Experience guiding teams through large upgrade cycles or refactoring initiatives.
  • Prior involvement in travel-industry booking, inventory, itinerary, or operations systems.
  • Leadership experience within delivery teams.
