Position Overview
The 2nd Shift Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the maintenance activities during the second shift in a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all equipment is operating efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maintaining high standards of food processing and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the maintenance team during the 2nd shift, ensuring effective work distribution and team coordination.
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues that arise during production.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety and food safety regulations in all maintenance operations.
- Train and mentor maintenance personnel on best practices and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in maintenance or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance within a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food processing, production, and packaging equipment.
- Experience in leading and managing a team effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
