About the Team: The New Studio in Las Vegas is responsible for the development of entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development teams in the US and Canada. Our game development teams are comprised of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software engineering, game design, audio engineering, and quality assurance. We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and work efficiency. About the Role Bluberi is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a passion for mathematics and slot machines to be part of our new Las Vegas Studio. The highly experienced Game Mathematician V is responsible for designing complex game math, creating, simulating, and validating the mathematical models that dictate the volatility, payout structures, and Return-to-Player (RTP) percentages for slot games along with mentoring junior mathematicians, optimizing simulation tools, and collaborating closely with game design and regulatory compliance teams Essential Functions Creation and validation of game math and supporting toolsIndependently develop math models for different markets, including, but not limited to Class III, Class II and Lottery. Review outcomes for all game specific metrics and adjust models as needed to hit targets. Ensure parity of model and game experience across different markets.Guide proper implementation of math into game builds and systems through clear documentation and discussions. Regularly evaluate and improve math processes. Provide solutions that increase game functionality and design capabilities. Complete required documentation for certification labs and operators. Responsible for quick and accurate responses to field issues on games released by any studio.Independently develop in-house simulations and theoretical calculations. Assist other mathematicians by evaluating math outcomes, scripts and proofs for games at any stage of concepting and development. Responsible for evaluating designs' feasibility and jurisdictional compliance of the studio's math output.Effectively mentors other mathematicians on best practices and implementation requirements.Use existing math tools competently to generate math files. Support new complex game mechanics by developing or evolving tools, such as Office extensions and WPF applications. Lead strategic planning to expand tool capabilities and define functional requirements. Active participation in game designLead idea generation and conceptualization efforts. Contribute to game design for the most complex and premium games. Responsible for creating and evaluating math proofs early in design that validate feasibility.Evaluate complex and premium game design to ensure all points (features, frequencies, etc.) are cohesive with an exciting math model given system, mathematical, and jurisdictional restraints. Recommend creative solutions to detected issues.Regularly review games in development and provide feedback at milestones. Demonstrate expert knowledge of current and past products. Lead competitive market research to inform game design and implementations. Required education and experienceBachelor’s degree in mathematics or Statistics or relevant experience in lieu.Demonstrated knowledge and application of Combinatorics, Probability Theory and Statistics.5+ years’ experience in slot game mathematics and design.Advanced knowledge about the casino gaming industryDemonstrated proficiency with C#, WPF and .Net Core/.Net.Competent with version control systems, such as Git and SVN.Advanced Excel skills, able to create and adapt large and complex spreadsheets.Good verbal and written communication skills. Can modulate information to different development domains. Demonstrates effective presentation skills.Strong people skills. Employment Classification To determine eligibility for benefits and overtime status and to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, Bluberi uses the following classifications. Employment classifications are based on the guidelines of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and, as circumstances dictate, Bluberi may review or change employment classifications at any time. Exempt: Exempt Team members are paid on a salary basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay. Non-exempt: Non-exempt Team members are paid on an hourly basis and are eligible to receive overtime pay for overtime hours worked. Regular, full time: Team members who are not in a temporary status and work a minimum of 30 hours weekly and maintain continuous employment status. These Team members are eligible for the full-time benefits package and are subject to the terms, conditions, and limitations of each benefits program.
