Summary
Forgent Power Solutions is seeking a driven, emotionally intelligent, and process-focused Manager for Project Management Office to lead our Project Management team within PMO. This role reports directly to the VP – PMO and is responsible for the leadership, development, and performance of Technical Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
The Manager of PMO will oversee the execution of customer projects from sales order entry through, testing, shipment, and commissioning, ensuring full scope compliance, on-time delivery, and exceptional customer experience. This role acts as the operational bridge between Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Customers—driving accountability, refining processes, developing talent, and fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment, leads with clarity and accountability, and demonstrates strong organizational discipline balanced with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
This is a full-time position. Typical working hours will be Monday – Friday, with hours ranging from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary based on company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and development to Technical Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability standards, and measurable KPIs aligned with company goals.
- Facilitate training and professional development to build technical competency, project leadership skills, and customer management capabilities.
- Foster a culture of ownership, urgency, emotional intelligence, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Conduct performance reviews, succession planning, and resource allocation planning within the Project Management team.
Project Oversight & Execution
- Maintain accountability for full project lifecycle execution, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, quality, and budget expectations.
- Ensure project plans and timelines reflect customer due dates, component lead times, manufacturing durations, testing requirements, and commissioning needs.
- Oversee risk identification and mitigation strategies to prevent delays or scope deviations.
- Lead project review meetings and milestone assessments to ensure proactive problem solving.
- Monitor and manage scope changes and customer expectations while protecting company performance and profitability.
Process & Operational Excellence
- Lead refinement and standardization of project management processes, documentation, and system workflows.
- Ensure ERP system data integrity and alignment between Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including post-project reviews and implementation of corrective actions.
- Monitor value stream performance and implement best practices across project teams.
- Support development and documentation of work standards, project documentation templates, and operational procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations leadership to align priorities and resource planning.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure seamless execution from order entry through shipment.
- Support purchasing alignment to ensure component lead times match engineering and production schedules.
- Provide performance metrics and reporting to the Director of Operations regarding project delivery, risk, and resource capacity.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure consistent, professional communication with customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Escalate and resolve complex customer issues while maintaining strong long-term relationships.
- Promote a service mindset within the Project Management team while balancing operational constraints.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor experience highly preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Superior problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Emotionally intelligent, confident communicator with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to pass background and drug test prior to employment.

Physical Requirements / Working Environment
- Ability to sit, stand, or bend for extended periods of time.
- Performance of duties will primarily be in the office with regular interaction on the production floor.
- May require occasional travel between facilities.
