Job Overview
Our client, a high-growth, self-performing commercial solar EPC firm with a niche focus on new commercial, multi-family, and public works projects is looking to bring on a Senior Project Manager. This hire will be a key member of their operations division and will be responsible for ensuring that all commercial solar projects move smoothly from intake to completion. This Senior Project Manager role is a full-time position with our client.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes and technological solutions to ensure seamless project management and execution of projects post-sale.
- Ensure projects progress efficiently from sales handoff through handoff to operations team, including engineering, permitting, and preparing for mobilization.
- Manage up to 30 commercial solar projects per year, including new construction, retrofit rooftop, carport, and battery systems.
- Navigate various project management software such as Procore, BIM 360, Con Docs, etc.
- Create RFIs and submittals.
- Lead pre-engineering meetings following each site survey in conjunction with the assigned commercial sales representative to ensure key design decisions are made prior to contracting.
- Manage relationships with team members and third-party engineering and design subcontractors.
- Evaluate and select subcontractors for design, engineering, and construction.
- Review and confirm engineering methods from third-party design partners meet company standards.
- Create project Bill of Material and ensure handoff for purchasing and project coordination.
- Lead commercial design review meetings with internal staff and customers prior to submission to AHJ.
- Proactively communicate with and update customers and stakeholders
- Obtain RFQs and negotiate scopes of work with subcontractors and vendors.
- Ensure projects receive AHJ approval and permit issuance
- Maintain project budgets and ensure project execution within timeline and budget.
- Ensure hand-off to the construction team once permits are received.
- Ensure timely communication with CFO about project milestone completion
Successful Candidates Must Have:
- At least 5 years of project management experience with complex and/or large portfolio projects. Experience with DSA or public work construction projects in a plus.
- Experience managing large solar projects from sales hand-off to permission to operate.
- Experience with project management software and/or CRM tools.
- Experience managing third-party relationships
- Experience with non-solar large-scale construction projects is a plus
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
- This Senior Project Manager role has a yearly negotiable salary ($100,000 to $150,000 per year)
