The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in shipyard or dry dock environments, performing structural welding, fabrication, and repairs on vessels, barges, and marine equipment while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Requirements
- Perform Stick welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and other materials in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
- Fabricate, repair, and maintain structural components, including hulls, decks, frames, and bulkheads.
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.
- Prepare and clean welding surfaces using grinders, cutting torches, and other tools.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure weld quality meets marine industry standards.
- Perform welding and repair tasks outdoors, at heights, over water, and in confined spaces as needed.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in safe working condition.
- Follow OSHA regulations, company policies, and shipyard safety procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven hands-on experience in Stick welding (SMAW).
- Previous shipyard, dry dock, or marine welding experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural welding, fabrication, and repair techniques.
- Ability to weld in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Experience working with carbon steel and structural metal components.
- Comfortable working outdoors, in confined spaces, at heights, and around water.
- Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and commitment to quality workmanship.
