Responsibilities/Job DescriptionFairview has an immediate opening for a Surgical Technologist in the Delivery Room at our Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN.\n

\nAs a Surgical Technologist, you’ll assist in surgical procedures by preparing the operating room, arranging and passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring a sterile environment under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting the surgical team and maintaining the safety and efficiency of the operating room.T\n
\n
This is a casual opening (0.01 FTE), meaning there are no guaranteed /scheduled shifts, and this role is not eligible for benefits.

About our OR at Ridges:

- Our 150-bed community-based hospital currently has 11 OR Rooms, averaging over 7,500 cases a year.
- Our OR specializes in areas including: Spine, Ortho, OB-GYN, General, ENT, Plastic, Urology, and Da Vinci.
- Our call response time is 30 minutes and it is a weekend
- Increased flexibility! Limited Call schedule (1 out of 6 weekends)

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for:
\n
- \n
- Supplying appropriate instruments, suture, and specialty items.
- Maintaining aseptic technique during all sterile procedures.
- Ensuring accurate identification and handling of specimens.
- Counting all required sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- Assuring availability and accurate functioning of supplies and equipment.
- Modifying clinical interventions based on population served.
- Nurturing a culture of improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.
- Anticipating the surgeon’s needs.
- Following appropriate action in emergency situations.

Required Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Complete one of the following by hire date:\n
- \n
- Military Surgical Assistant; OR
- LPN (licensed in MN) Surgical Assistant; OR
- Surgical Technologist training
\n
\n
\n
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through Health Care Providers (or ability to obtain by hire date)
\n
\n
\n
Preferred Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program
- AST certification or certification eligible at time of hire
- 1 to 3 years surgical tech experience
\n
\n
\n
\n
Other Required Skills:

- Knowledge of age-appropriate outcomes and interventions.

Qualifications\n
$37.67- $54.42 Hourly
