Job DescriptionWe are seeking dependable and hardworking General Laborers to assist with road, bridge, and public works maintenance projects. This position involves performing a variety of physical labor duties, including roadside cleanup, debris removal, construction support, vegetation clearing, and general maintenance.
Requirements: Candidates should be able to perform physically demanding outdoor work, lift approximately 50 lbs., work in Florida heat and changing weather conditions, follow safety procedures, and work effectively as part of a crew. Previous experience in construction, road maintenance, landscaping, public works, or general labor is preferred but can be listed as optional depending on how entry-level you want the position to be.
Ideal Candidate: Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, comfortable working outdoors, and willing to perform different types of physical labor throughout the workday.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform general labor associated with road and bridge maintenance and construction.
- Clean roadsides, right-of-ways, drainage areas, and work zones.
- Pick up and properly dispose of trash, debris, branches, and other materials.
- Assist with asphalt, concrete, road repair, and construction projects as needed.
- Clear vegetation, brush, weeds, and other obstructions from work areas.
- Load and unload construction materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Use basic hand and power tools safely.
- Assist equipment operators and other crew members with daily assignments.
- Set up and remove cones, signs, barricades, and other work-zone equipment when instructed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Follow supervisor instructions and all established safety procedures.
- Perform other general maintenance and labor duties as assigned.
