In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and subject matter experts to develop manuals, setup guides, functional specifications, and other technical documentation that supports product operation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain system manuals, setup guides, operational procedures, and functional specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and SMEs to gather technical information and meet project timelines.
- Research design specifications, parts lists, CAD models, and existing documentation to gain product understanding.
- Capture machine operation walkthroughs, screenshots, and visual content for documentation.
- Identify documentation gaps and improve content quality and usability.
- Coordinate and facilitate document reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Proofread and edit technical content created by engineering teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives for documentation processes and standards.
- Contribute to knowledge management and internal documentation systems.

Qualifications
\n

- 6+ years of technical writing experience supporting complex projects or engineered products.
- Experience documenting large machines, automated equipment, or integrated hardware systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Understanding of structured authoring, information mapping, minimalist documentation principles, and content organization.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience working with style guides, templates, and document control processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and electromechanical concepts.
- Portfolio of technical writing samples available for review.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve documentation workflows is a plus

Preferred Skills

- Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Experience with peer editing and content review processes.
- Proficiency with MadCap Flare, Microsoft 365, SnagIt, Photoshop, or similar documentation tools.
- Experience with image capture and editing.
- Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Knowledge of single-source publishing and multi-format content delivery.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, or other markup languages.
- Experience with regulated environments and documentation practices such as GAMP, PFMEA, and traceability methodologies.
