As a Data Scientist supporting supply chain risk management initiatives, you will analyze complex datasets to provide actionable insights that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. You will design and implement data-driven solutions using statistical methods, predictive modeling, and machine learning to identify potential risks and optimize supply chain performance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role involves working in hybrid and remote environments with periodic travel, requiring self-motivation and proactive problem-solving. You will contribute directly to projects with significant operational and strategic impact, supporting critical mission objectives. The position provides an opportunity to work on high-profile programs, integrating cutting-edge analytics to improve defense readiness and efficiency.
Accountabilities:
• Develop and implement data science solutions to analyze large and complex supply chain datasets.
• Apply statistical, predictive modeling, and machine learning techniques to identify trends, anomalies, and risks.
• Query, manipulate, and analyze structured and unstructured data using SQL, NoSQL, Hive, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with analysts, data engineers, product owners, and subject matter experts to deliver mission-critical solutions.
• Build visualizations, dashboards, and reports to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to program, analytical, and acquisition management support for senior leadership.
• Assist in drafting information for internal and external stakeholders, including Congressional inquiries, as needed.
Requirements
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain/transfer an active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of hands-on experience, OR a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and data science libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Experience querying and analyzing data from SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of developing and implementing machine learning and predictive modeling solutions.
• Experience presenting data insights via dashboards, reports, or briefings to diverse stakeholders.
• Familiarity with supply chain management, logistics, or risk analysis preferred.
• Experience with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Hive) and government contracting/defense projects is a plus.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and self-management skills, especially in remote/hybrid settings.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
