IT Specialist Healthcare (On-Site)
Location: Knoxville, TN
Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 (Based on Experience)

About Us
A well-established medical practice in East Tennessee is seeking an IT Specialist to manage its technology infrastructure, EHR systems, and IT support needs. This role is essential for maintaining HIPAA compliance, system security, and efficient IT operations to enhance patient care and workflow.
Role Overview
As the IT Specialist, you will act as a one-person IT department, handling technical support, system management, and IT security while collaborating with an external IT service provider. Youll support approximately 90 users (including physicians) and 40 ancillary users across two office locations in the Knoxville metropolitan area.
Key Responsibilities
System Management:
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of Electronic Health Records (EHR) and medical software.
- Manage data security, storage, and backup systems to ensure integrity and compliance.
- Work with external vendors to resolve IT-related issues.
Technical Support:
- Serve as the primary contact for IT-related issues, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
- Provide on-site and remote support for staff, physicians, and ancillary users.
- Generate reports and analyze IT-related data to improve processes.
- Be available for occasional after-hours emergency support.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and healthcare IT regulations.
- Implement security measures to safeguard patient and practice data.
- Educate staff on IT security best practices.
Project Management & Optimization:
- Lead software installations, system upgrades, and IT projects.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance practice efficiency.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to align IT solutions with clinical needs.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience:
- 3+ years of IT experience, preferably in healthcare or a medical office setting.
- Experience managing EHR systems (AthenaPractice is a plus).
- Ability to work independently and handle IT issues internally.
Technical Skills:
- Macintosh Ecosystem & Windows Support
- Citrix VDA & Microsoft Azure AVD
- Office 365 (Conditional Access), Active Directory, & Group Policy Management
- VOIP Systems & Remote Management
- Healthcare IT experience (HIPAA compliance & security measures)
Other Requirements:
- Must be comfortable working on-site at the main office location in Knoxville, TN.
- Willing to travel between two office locations in the Knoxville area as needed.
