Investa Management is seeking an Staff Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our organization.
JOB OVERVIEW:
Position/Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for full-cycle accounting across multiple affiliated companies, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, payroll, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close. This role will prepare journal entries and financial statements, analyze financial activity and variances, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure financial records are accurate and complete. Working closely with the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant will manage the accounting responsibilities for assigned entities while also supporting audits, process improvements, and the organization’s continued growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Full-Cycle Accounting
- Maintain the general ledger for assigned business entities.
- Ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Review financial activity for completeness and accuracy.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain supporting schedules and accounting documentation.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, vendor maintenance, payment processing, and annual 1099 reporting.
- Manage bi-weekly payroll, maintain employee records, and support payroll reporting and compliance activities.
- Support accounting operations across multiple affiliated companies, including intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
Account Reconciliations
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances in a timely manner.
Month-End and Year-End Close
- Perform month-end and year-end close procedures for assigned entities.
- Prepare and post recurring, adjusting, accrual, and reclassification journal entries.
- Prepare supporting schedules and workpapers.
- Support annual audit, tax preparation, and external accountant information requests.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial activity and investigate unusual fluctuations and variances.
- Provide financial information and reports to management as requested.
- Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information.
- Support organizational growth through a team-oriented approach.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
- Experience with general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Experience performing month-end close activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple entities.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Preferred
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
- Multi-entity accounting experience.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Salesforce, and ADP payroll.
- Experience preparing financial statements and management reports.
Working Conditions
- Full-time, in-office position.
- Primarily performed in a professional office environment with extended periods of sitting, computer work, and telephone communication.
- Extended hours may be required during peak operational periods.
- May occasionally assist with special projects or company events associated with affiliated businesses.
