As an Assistant Store Team Leader, youre pawsitively passionate about people and their pets. You will support the Store Team Leader in running the day-to-day operations of the store, leading the team by example, and delivering exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity. Whether youre welcoming a new puppy, jumping in to help a team member find the right solution for a pet parent, or partnering on ways to improve store performance, you play a key role in creating a fun, engaging, and pet-centric environment where both pets and people thrive.
What Youll Do
- Support and lead your team by example, delivering exceptional, neighborly service
- Jump in to greet neighbors and their pets and create a welcoming in-store experience
- Assist customers in choosing the best products for their pets needs
- Support store performance including sales, engagement, and overall productivity
- Help analyze results and partner with leadership on plans to improve performance
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing a strong team
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-run store environment (including animal care and safety)
- Build relationships within the community and support local events and partnerships
- Help create a fun, positive culture where both pets and people feel at home

Requirements and Responsibilities
- 2+ years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience preferred (High School Diploma/GED required)
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, kneeling)
- Ability to operate store equipment as needed
- Reliable transportation and ability to work flexible schedules
- Must be 18+ years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner
