Quality Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $68,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Utilize precision measurement tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
  • Document inspection results accurately and maintain comprehensive quality records.
  • Identify, report, and quarantine non-conforming materials and products.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Support the calibration and maintenance schedule for quality inspection equipment.
  • Contribute to the development and revision of quality control procedures and work instructions.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Basic understanding and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC) principles.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

Bonus Qualifications

  • ASQ Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or equivalent certification
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience with CMM programming or advanced metrology equipment
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or practical application experience
