Your day to day as a Loss Prevention & Recovery Specialist I

To excel as a Loss Prevention & Recovery Specialist I at Christian Community Credit Union, candidates must bring a robust skill set and relevant experience that aligns with our mission. A high school diploma or equivalent is essential, along with a minimum of three years of collections experience within a financial institution. Candidates should possess expertise in loss mitigation and loan recovery processes, demonstrating a solid understanding of both State and Federal Regulations pertaining to collections. Proficiency in legal actions, skip tracing, repossession procedures, and bankruptcy proceedings is crucial for effectively managing delinquent and charged-off accounts. Strong negotiation and communication skills will enhance your ability to influence repayment outcomes while maintaining a focus on member service.

Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet software, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel, is also necessary. A comprehensive understanding of Fair Collections Practices will ensure that all interactions are handled professionally and empathetically, contributing to our commitment to excellence.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum three years of collections experience within a financial institution required
  • Loss mitigation or loan recovery experience within a financial institution required
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Regulations pertaining to the area of collections required
  • Experience with skip tracing, repossession procedures and truth in lending required
  • Knowledge of word processing (Word required) and spreadsheets (Excel required)
  • Experience with legal actions, bankruptcy proceedings, small claims, and foreclosure process preferred
  • In-depth understanding of Fair Collections Practices for consumer & commercial loans, secured/unsecured
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with ability to influence repayment outcomes
  • Must reside in AZ, CA, CO, ID, IL, KY, NC, TN, TX, or WI, and be able to work remotely Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:30pm PST (flexible 40 hours per week).
