HiFyve is hiring a Field Service Technician for a Manufacturing Equipment Company!
Salary: $25-52/hr also offers per diem
Shift: Have to be flexible depending on customer needs (could travel on weekends if needed)
Location: Kansas City Metro / Extensive Travel (North America with occasional international travel)
60-70% travel
Role Overview
Responsible for on-site troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of industrial food-processing equipment at customer locations. This role involves extensive travel and direct customer interaction, serving as a key technical representative in the field.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of industrial food-processing equipment
- Install new equipment and ensure systems are fully operational per technical specifications
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and operational system issues
- Serve as primary liaison between customers and internal support teams
- Document all service activities accurately in CRM systems (Salesforce) within required timelines
- Travel extensively to customer sites across North America with occasional international travel
- Communicate job progress, findings, and recommendations to service leadership and customers
- Recommend replacement parts, maintenance services, and equipment improvements
- Train customers on equipment operation, safety procedures, and best practices
- Provide on-site and remote technical support and training as needed
- Maintain strong professional relationships and represent the company in the field
Education Requirements
- Associate degree or technical diploma in electrical, mechanical maintenance, automation, or related field preferred
- Equivalent hands-on experience in field service or industrial maintenance accepted
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, or packaging equipment experience (5+ preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on troubleshooting experience
- Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and system documentation
- Strong problem-solving skills in customer-facing, high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing travel schedules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Salesforce experience preferred
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail

- Valid driver’s license required
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one required
- Ability to travel frequently across North America with occasional international travel
