Job DescriptionPosition: Pool Attendant / Lifeguard (Work Through Labor Day)Department:
Recreation
General Purpose:
Ensure the overall safety and satisfaction of all pool guests. Maintain a clean and welcoming pool environment, including chairs, tables, and the pool itself, both prior to opening and at closing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet all guests and members, provide towels, monitor pool safety, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Maintain full knowledge of retail items and bike rentals. Act as cashier and manage payment and release forms.

Set up and break down pool furniture, umbrellas, bikes, and equipment as directed by management.

Perform regular walk-throughs to ensure pool area cleanliness and organization.

Enforce safety standards in and around pool areas.

Assist in the execution of poolside activities and events for guests and members.

Inspect the pool area regularly, replacing or repairing equipment and furnishings as needed (e.g., umbrellas, chairs).
Additional Responsibilities:

Adhere to and enforce all pool and hotel safety rules.

Prioritize and fulfill guest requests promptly.

Maintain knowledge of and comply with hotel operations and policies.

Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the manager.
Education and Experience:
-
High school diploma or GED required.
-
Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (including First Aid & CPR).
-
1–3 months of related experience or training preferred.

Customer service experience strongly preferred.
Skills and Abilities:

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the primary language used in the workplace.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Understanding of basic hotel operations and guest service standards.

Ability to follow written, verbal, or diagrammed instructions and resolve practical problems.
Physical Requirements:
-
Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
-
Able to walk and stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours at a time).
-
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, stretch, and lift up to 30 lbs regularly.

Continuous use of hearing, vision (including near vision and depth perception), and verbal communication.

Must be able to operate all equipment related to the role, including mountain bikes and point-of-sale systems.
Certifications Required:

Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (includes First Aid & CPR)
