Essex Industries is a multi-site aerospace and defense manufacturer serving military and commercial customers worldwide. We are seeking an Export and Quality Compliance Specialist Contractor to manage export/import compliance in accordance with applicable laws, serve as the Empowered Official under ITAR, and lead trade compliance across the Essex platforms.
Essential Duties:
- Manage all export and import licensing activities
- Provide guidance and support in transactions with regard to licensing and adherence to trade and export regulations, including HTS & Schedule B Classifications, NAFTA & Free Trade Agreements.
- Assist employees with export classification and commodity jurisdiction determinations;
- Assist in the development and implementation of an effective export control compliance program, including coordination of training and the periodic review of export activities.
- Review of USG solicitations and contracts, requiring a thorough understanding Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR) and supplements thereof.
- Review and advise on customer (including Primes such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, etc.) contractual obligations contained within solicitations, RFPs, flow down provisions and all terms and conditions.
- Project management to integrate trade compliance to INFOR ERP system.
- Lead AS9100 internal auditing system for Essex STL sites coordinating audit activities with QA team
- Demonstrate a high level of understanding of the ITAR, EAR FTR, Custom Laws, and Country of Origin determination.
- Maintain and Update company's Export Compliance Program and associated training for new employees and company departments as regulations change.
- Assist in the review technical data that is being proposed for export for purposes of determining export control requirements.
- Sign license applications or other requests for approval on behalf of Essex;
- Inquire into any aspect of a proposed export or temporary import;
- Verify the legality of the transaction and the accuracy of the information to be submitted
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in business related field and 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
