Smoky Mountain Health & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a dependable and motivated Dietary Cook to join our Food & Nutrition Services team.

What You'll Do
As a Dietary Cook, you'll prepare nutritious and appetizing meals while helping create an enjoyable dining experience for our residents.
Responsibilities Include:

Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and resident dietary needs

Prepare regular and specialized diets as directed
-
Ensure meals are properly portioned, presented, and served on time
-
Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and regulatory guidelines
-
Monitor and document food temperatures as required
-
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area
-
Assist with food preparation, inventory, and stock rotation
-
Receive, organize, and properly store food and supplies
-
Assist with maintaining adequate food and kitchen supplies
-
Work collaboratively with Dietary, Nursing, and other facility team members
-
Help provide residents with a positive and enjoyable dining experience
What We're Looking For
-
Previous cook, kitchen, restaurant, hospitality, catering, healthcare, or institutional food service experience preferred
-
Knowledge of basic food preparation, food safety, and sanitation practices
-
ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain if required

Dependable with strong organizational and time-management skills
-
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Strong communication and teamwork skills
-
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position
