A rewarding contract opportunity for experienced Secondary English Language Arts educators is available in a supportive and dynamic school environment located near Prattville, AL. The assignment will run from August 11, 2026, through May 27, 2027, with an onsite, full-time weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. As part of the General Education team, you’ll engage, inspire, and guide students at a pivotal stage in their academic journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a classroom climate that supports both learning and personal growth
  • Foster constructive, positive relationships with students, families, staff, and visitors
  • Encourage development of critical ELA skills, positive attitudes, and a strong academic foundation
  • Incorporate current technologies and digital tools to engage learners and prepare them for modern demands
  • Motivate students to achieve their full potential and become active, responsible learners
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure every student’s success
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the school principal

Requirements:

  • Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with English endorsement (For verification: https://tcert.alsde.edu/Portal/Public/Pages/SearchCerts.aspx)
  • Background in general education, specifically ELA at the secondary level
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Adaptable and skilled at managing diverse classroom needs
