Job DescriptionLHH is seeking a Project Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with an aerospace manufacturing client located in Indianapolis, IN. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing team that specializes in the highest-quality and most precise products on the market. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $100-115K per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit and insurance plans, generous Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan with a company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead quoting, kickoff, and execution of custom projects from start to finish

Oversee testing processes for components in dedicated test environments

Monitor project timelines and adjust schedules using ERP and project management tools

Ensure compliance with industry standards and defense-related manufacturing protocols

Develop work instructions and initiate job routing documentation for production

Manage a handful of concurrent low-volume, high-precision projects at a time

Interface directly with customers to provide weekly updates and technical support

Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate project requirements and constraints and coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet delivery and quality expectations

Support continuous improvement initiatives across production and project workflows

Maintain accurate documentation and records for all project phases

Resolve technical challenges and provide creative solutions for first-time builds

Track and report project metrics to internal stakeholders

Participate in customer meetings to review specifications and clarify deliverables
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Engineering is required with a preference in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering

Minimum of 3+ years of project management experience within the aerospace and/or defense manufacturing industry is required

Must have experience managing projects for new product development and/or product testing

Must have experience with customer-facing roles and technical communication
-
Ideal candidates will have experience with low-volume, high-complexity aerospace components
-
Ideal candidates will have the ability to interpret and apply GD&T principles
-
Must have experience utilizing an ERP system and project scheduling tools such as Excel and/or Microsoft Project

Must possess strong time management and organizational skills ed
