We are seeking an entry-level Associate Engineer to join our growing Municipal Engineering team based in Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ. This role is ideal for a recent civil engineering graduate who is interested in public-sector work and wants to build a long-term career through hands-on experience, mentorship, and a clear internal growth path.

ResponsibilitiesMunicipal Review & Technical Analysis
- Review site plans, subdivision and land development applications, and capital improvement projects for compliance with municipal ordinances, standards, and regulations
- Support planning board and zoning board reviews by preparing technical comments and reports
- Communicate clearly and professionally with boards, applicants, inspectors, and internal team members
Engineering & Design Exposure
- Assist with design work on municipal infrastructure projects such as roadway improvements, including preparation of plans and specifications
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analysis under the guidance of senior engineers
Construction Administration
- Support construction-phase activities, including coordination with inspectors and review of field conditions
- Gain exposure to how projects are implemented and resolved in real-world conditions
Team Collaboration & Development
- Work closely with experienced engineers (including recently licensed PEs) who provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship
- Participate in CME’s peer mentor program and professional development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or scheduled to take the EIT exam
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort participating in public meetings
- Interest in and commitment to municipal engineering work
- Willingness to work from and commit to the Neptune/Tinton Falls, NJ office
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or co-op experience in civil or municipal engineering
- Familiarity with municipal infrastructure, transportation, or water/wastewater projects
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar engineering software
