Position Summary

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial integrity of Taber Industries by performing account reconciliations, preparing month-end journal entries, managing financial reporting activities, and supporting daily accounting operations. Working closely with the Vice President of Finance and cross-functional departments, you'll help ensure accurate financial records, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.

Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. Your work directly supports sound financial decision-making, operational efficiency, and the continued success of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and annual account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, accounts payable, and vouchers payable.
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting.
  • Manage daily accounts receivable activities.
  • Review and release customer credit holds.
  • Review customer credit applications and support the credit approval process.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and resolve account discrepancies.
  • Perform daily cash management activities, including reconciling bank transactions.
  • Prepare ACH and wire transfers through the banking platform.
  • Review and approve cash receipt batches within the ERP system.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns and assist with other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience as defined by company requirements.
  • Minimum of two years of financial accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
  • Experience using ERP accounting systems.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Experience with sales tax compliance and cash management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement throughout the office and manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees across departments.
  • Frequent use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move files and office materials weighing up to 10 pounds.
