JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Site Manager, the Eco Depot Shift Supervisor directs the work of staff members and oversees daily operations and retail sales at the Eco Depot facility. The position maintains site transaction records, assesses load volumes, schedules staff and operates heavy equipment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervise the daily operations, sales, and customer relationships of the Eco Depot facility in support of site management’s business objectives.
2. Prepare a work schedule with shifts, hours and tasks to be accomplished.
3. Collaborate with site management to supervise staff, which includes mentoring, coaching, and identifying disciplinary issues.
4. Ensure the facility is staffed and open for business on time.
5. Assess load volumes and compliance with pricing minimums.
6. Ensure proper maintenance of transaction records.
7. Deposit funds daily.
8. Operate onsite equipment associated with operations including, but not limited to, front end loader and roll-off truck.
9. Conduct and/or participate in required safety meetings.
10. Immediately report safety incidents or violations to the Site Manager.
11. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or its equivalent
• At least one year of related medium or heavy equipment operator experience or completion of specialized training.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite – e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook
• Professional demeanor
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Detail oriented
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong training skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• At least one year of customer service experience
• At least one year of supervisory experience

REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS

• Valid Class C driver’s license
• Record of safe driving for the last three years
• Class B Municipal Solid Waste license – or the ability to obtain
