Job DescriptionChiller Technician – Large Tonnage HVAC Systems
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to lead maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of our HVAC fleet with a focus on large tonnage air conditioning systems and chillers. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability, efficiency, and compliance, while also mentoring the next generation of technicians and supporting our fleet’s transition to advanced monitoring systems.
Key Responsibilities

Serve as the lead technician for large tonnage chillers and HVAC systems: troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain equipment on-site.

Support special projects such as researching obsolete parts, recommending refrigeration conversion solutions, and implementing fleet upgrades.

Act as a technical resource during the rollout of remote monitoring systems.

Train and mentor junior technicians across branches and depots.

Contribute to turnkey rental installations of chillers and large air conditioning systems, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Perform other duties as needed, demonstrating adaptability and teamwork.
Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in HVAC, Refrigeration, or related field (or equivalent experience).

5–7 years of hands-on experience with large tonnage chillers/HVAC systems.

Universal EPA Certification required.

Strong diagnostic and repair skills for complex HVAC/chiller systems.

Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide others.

Self-starter, capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Willingness to travel to support operations.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems; experience with data entry and reporting.

Preferred: 1–2 years in purchasing/supply chain or prior work in a manufacturing environment.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Physical ability to safely lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Must pass a DOT physical, drug screen, background check, and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.
