Small personal injury law firm located in Kendall is seeking a full-time Legal Clerk to support a busy attorney and lead paralegal. This is primarily a remote position; however, occasional in-office attendance may be required for tasks such as handling mail, scanning, copying, and file organization.
We offer insurance benefits and paid vacation time. Compensation starts at $20 per hour.
This position requires availability Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Enter and maintain information in case management software
- Open and organize new client files in the firm’s software and Microsoft Word
- Maintain organized digital and physical case files
- Prepare and send template-based opening letters to clients
- Request medical records, bills, and liens from healthcare providers and insurance companies
- Communicate with medical providers and insurance representatives by phone and email
- Follow up regarding outstanding medical records, bills, and supporting documentation
- Answer incoming calls from medical providers and related parties
- Review, organize, and save incoming medical records and billing documentation
- Upload and save emails, photographs, and other relevant documents to client files
- Respond to emails and assist with ongoing case-related communications throughout the day.
Qualifications:
Prior experience using Microsoft Word and Outlook required
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
