Engineering Team Lead – Minneapolis area, MN
Leading Construction Products Manufacturer in looking for an Engineering Team Lead for their Bloomington, MN location. The Engineering Team Lead is directly responsible for project management & scheduling as well as production planning with both owners and 3rd party partners. The Engineering Team Lead is responsible for executing engineering designs as well as production process and product enhancements through their team along with the associated training, coaching and development of their team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises and motivates a team of design engineers (2) to provide exceptional engineering and customer service for both our internal and external customers.
- Coordinates with sales and operations to fulfill customer requests for technical drawings, order fulfillment updates and schedules.
- Facilitate task assignment and ongoing workload leveling amongst direct reports and manage staffing levels.
- Actively assists in solution development during the proposal stage, complete CAD designs alongside the engineering team during the life of the project and review CAD drawings prior to release for manufacturing.
- Directly responsible for project management, scheduling and production planning, closely interfacing with our supply chain and our customers.
- Responsible for quality and quantity of work output of engineering team.
- Provides recommendations and assists with development and implementation of process improvement, efficiency tools, and overall strategy.
- Maintain project records, documentation and data in CRM database.
- Possesses thorough knowledge of all products, processes and policies to support and exceed customer expectations.
- Conducts job performance reviews, and career development activities with each direct report.
- Models the organization’s values.
- Interacts with and provides recommendations, metrics, or other information to Senior Management when necessary.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree - Civil, Mechanical or Related Engineering Major
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- 2-5 year’s relevant experience in product design.
- Project Management experience.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for mechanical designs.
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required along with organizational and interactive skills.
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools or similar databases.
- Effective and proven leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems involving several variables while operating in a dynamic, fluid, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize situations requiring urgent attention is critical. Time management and organization skills
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, data base management software).
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
