Job Description

Embedded Software Engineer

Interested in getting in at the ground floor of a new, disruptive company attacking an important multi-billion-dollar problem? Businesses and consumers continue to demand increasing data services at an exponential rate -- streaming, deep learning, analytics, loT connectivity, and more. What this means is higher performing CPUs, components, servers, and ultimately Data and Edge computing centers, all generating excessive heat that is increasingly difficult to manage with traditional cooling systems. Accelsius is developing revolutionary direct-to-chip, 2-Phase cooling technologies that empower and enable Server OEMs, Data Centers, Edge Computing Operators, and 5G Edge deployments to meet performance, sustainability, scale, and cost goals while serving this high-growth market for data services.

Accelsius is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to develop in our OpenBMC based software stack. This position is in our Systems Engineering team and the right candidate will enjoy collaborating with other engineering disciplines developing high quality enterprise hardware and software.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for writing embedded software & firmware that controls and is used around our enterprise cooling solutions.
  • Scope of development can vary from low level control loops, APIs, or even high-level management software that provide various views and control into our products.
  • Collaborate with cross discipline teams on solution architecture and fine tuning of deliveries.
  • Clearly articulate external interdependencies and project risks along with mitigation or recovery plans.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • 5-10 years of experience of developing complex or mission critical software in C/C++
  • Experience in embedded Linux system internals and methods.
  • Understanding of low level busses (i2c, spi, etc) and communication with external devices
  • End user focused mentality on UI, CLI, and API creation.
  • Familiarity with Bitbake or Yocto preferred as we are OpenBMC based.
  • Understanding of common digital and analogue electronic principles and methods
  • Comfortable with reading schematics and proper use of oscilloscope and logic analyzers.
  • Strong skills of identifying, isolating, and debugging issues in software and hardware.
  • Desire to continue learning about other engineering areas and technologies used in our products.
  • Candidates must enjoy being on a talented team while learning and sharing knowledge.
  • B.S. in engineering, computer science or related fields preferred.
  • Experience with management and control APIs such as Redfish / IPMI / Modbus preferred.
  • Startup experience is a plus

Accelsius offers a competitive salary with equity, a full range of benefits including medical and dental, 401K, and unlimited PTO.

The position is onsite based in Austin, Texas.

This position includes the responsibilities outlined above and may also encompass additional duties as assigned to meet business and compliance needs.
