Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate Sales Associate to work directly with customers to identify jewelry preferences, build meaningful relationships, answer questions, and assist with in-store sales while delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role requires someone who performs daily responsibilities with excellence and understands proper procedures in a luxury jewelry retail environment.

Essential Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales:

  • Work directly with clients to identify jewelry preferences, answer questions, and assist with in-store counter sales while providing an exceptional customer experience
  • Support the sales team with in-store counter sales and service operations
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of store inventory, jewelry trends, precious stones, and metals
  • Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system
  • Execute all related sales procedures and protocols with precision

Relationship Building & Customer Management:

  • Maintain detailed client and prospective client information in our database, including preferences, wish list items, and upcoming special events
  • Send timely thank you notes and follow-up communications consistently to develop lasting customer relationships
  • Demonstrate proficiency with our CRM system to track customer interactions and nurture long-term relationships
  • Meet CRM usage requirements and clientele development quotas

Store Operations & Support:

  • Support comprehensive store operations including opening and closing procedures
  • Answer phones professionally and handle customer inquiries with expertise
  • Follow all security protocols and procedures to protect inventory and ensure safety
  • Conduct accurate inventory case counts and assist with stock management
  • Perform store maintenance and housekeeping duties to maintain pristine showroom appearance
  • Execute warm sales transfers to specialists (designers, customer service, repairs) as appropriate

Communication & Professional Development:

  • Maintain open and timely communication with team members, management, clients, and vendors regarding project status, sales opportunities, and design questions
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic with eagerness to learn about jewelry, gemstones, and industry trends
  • Actively pursue new sales opportunities with customers, including add-on services and complementary products
  • Stay current with jewelry fashion trends and seasonal opportunities

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one year retail sales and customer service experience, preferably in luxury goods or jewelry
  • Accredited Jewelry Professional certification or GIA education strongly preferred to develop comprehensive working knowledge of jewelry trends, precious stones, metals, and industry standards

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent oral communication and active listening skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organizational abilities and effective multitasking capabilities
  • Competent computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systems
  • Understanding of social media platforms and their role in customer relationship management
  • Proven networking abilities and relationship-building skills
  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for luxury retail environment
  • Availability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM schedule

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Regular walking on level surfaces within the retail environment
  • Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying, or reaching above shoulder height, below waist level, or lifting up to 10 pounds for inventory management and display arrangement
  • Fine motor skills for handling delicate jewelry pieces and operating equipment
  • Visual acuity for examining jewelry details and assisting customers with selections
