Role Overview:

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to perform scheduled preventative and unscheduled corrective maintenance activities for the Maintenance and Facilities Department at the New England facilities. This work will be performed in accordance with Veranova’s guidelines and procedures, with all work documented in the organization’s asset management database.

Please note: This is a temporary contract role.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform required preventative maintenance in a timely manner to ensure compliance with all organizational procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform corrective maintenance activities related to the upkeep of systems and facilities.
  • Conduct general building maintenance.
  • Carry out equipment repairs.
  • Assist with equipment relocations.
  • Minimize process downtime due to equipment or part failures by evaluating equipment condition and recommending necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Support various departments with facilities and maintenance needs as required.
  • Ensure all required job-related training is completed on time.
  • Supervise outside contractors performing work at the New England facilities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when performing work on site, including:
    • Lock Out/Tag Out
    • Work Permits
    • Job Hazard Analysis
  • Document all work performed in the organization's asset management database in accordance with cGMP guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a maintenance technician role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong safety mindset and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work from heights.
  • Ability to wear various types of respirators, protective clothing, and other required PPE.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical, or related industry.
  • Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) environment.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as Blue Mountain RAM.
