About the Role:
Join Gateway Residential Services as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. In this rewarding role, you will provide essential support and guidance, helping our clients achieve their daily goals and enhance their quality of life.
Shift time and days
Monday to Friday 9am-5pm, some days or shift times may vary depending on scheduled appointments or outings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and meal preparation.
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to foster independence and self-esteem.
- Implement individualized care plans and monitor client progress.
- Facilitate social and recreational activities to promote community engagement.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions and progress notes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
- Administer medications as prescribed and observe clients for any changes in condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe environment for all clients.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience preferred.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience in the healthcare or social services field is beneficial.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Ability to lift and support clients as needed.
