Job Description
Job Description
Legacy Toys is a utopia of toys, games, candy and more — a specialty toy store built to create unique, fun, repeatable experiences for families and kids of all ages. Founded in Minnesota in 2012, we believe a toy store should be somewhere you go to feel something, not just somewhere you buy something. Our team members are part of the experience: we greet warmly, demo and play, share what we love, and send every guest out the door smiling. If you love people, love play, and want to make someone's day — you'll fit right in.
About the role:
As Store Manager, you own the full picture — the experience your guests have, the culture your team lives, and the results your store delivers. Your job is to make sure every visit is an experience, not just a transaction. You'll report to the Director of Operations.
What you'll own:
- Sales growth — set goals, track performance, and coach your team to hit them
- Hire, train, and develop your team: Associates, Shift Leads, and your Assistant Manager
- Maintain the training systems and make sure every team member is set up to succeed
- Store operations: scheduling, purchase orders, transfers, special orders, and inventory
- Visual merchandising — keep the floor clean, stocked, and shoppable at all times
- Implement company policies, goals, and the Legacy brand experience consistently
- Handle employee and guest relations with a steady hand
- Provide regular updates to the Director of Operations on results, needs, and hiring
- Maintain a positive, high-performing store culture every day
What we're looking for:
- Proven retail management experience — you've led a team and owned results
- A leader who develops people, not just manages them
- Strong communicator with guests, staff, and leadership
- Operationally sharp — inventory, scheduling, hiring, and compliance
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and stepping in when needed
- High energy — the holiday rush fires you up
- A genuine love for the Legacy Toys brand
Physical requirements & work environment:
- Stand and walk for extended periods during a shift
- Frequently reach, bend, stoop, and use a step stool to stock and retrieve product
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., boxes of stock)
- Operate a point-of-sale system and handle products with manual dexterity
- Work in a busy, high-energy retail environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Reasonable accommodations are available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions
Benefits & perks:
Game On Us (a free game of your choice each quarter for eligible team members), a 30% employee discount (some brand exclusions), Earned Sick & Safe Time as required by law, paid vacation (Store Managers accrue about 2 weeks/year for full-time), flexible and predictable scheduling, in-store game lending, twice-yearly team swag and events, and a clear path to grow.
