Job Description
I am looking for a Senior Tax Accountant to join a growing, privately held CPA firm serving small businesses, as the firm's first dedicated tax hire with a defined path to Tax Manager.

Why this role?
\n
- \n
- Build from the ground up. You'll build the firm's tax function from scratch and have real input on people, process, and systems.
- Defined promotion path. You'll have a formal review at six months, then a path to Tax Manager within roughly 6–12 months with a significant increase.
- Growing firm. The firm is growing quickly and shares that growth with the team through an annual performance bonus.
- Modern, tech-forward practice. The firm runs on cloud systems, a client portal, and extensive automation, and leadership adopts better tools quickly.
- Experienced leadership. The managing partner comes from a large-firm public accounting background.
- Close-knit culture. The team is casual and unpretentious, with strong work-life balance and manageable tax season hours.
- About the firm: It is a full-service CPA firm offering tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, entity formation, IRS representation, and fractional CFO and controller advisory services.

- Serve as the primary tax point of contact for a small business client base.
- Learn how client data and financial statements feed into returns, including where the numbers come from and how calculations are done.
- Support and gain exposure to an ongoing bookkeeping cleanup initiative across the client base.
- Help shape tax workflows, processes, and the use of technology as the department grows.
- Grow into a Tax Manager role, eventually building and leading a team.
