AboutthePosition:
The Development Manager plays a key role in supportingexalts fundraising and donor engagement efforts. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, this position combines grant writing support, prospect research, donor stewardship, event support, database management to ensure the organization's fundraising goals are met.
Responsibilities:
GrantWriting&ProspectResearch:
- Identifyandsupportdrafting/submittinggrantapplicationstofoundations,corporations,and government sources.
- Conductprospectresearchtoidentifynewfundingopportunities,includingindividuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Collaboratewithteammemberstomanagetheannualgrantscalendarandensuretimelysubmissions of proposals and reports.
DonorStewardship&Communications:
- Supportdraft/executionofsolicitationletters,acknowledgmentletters,donorreports,andnewsletters.
- SupporttheHeadofPhilanthropyandCEOinpreparingmaterialsfordonormeetingsandevents.
- Helpwitheblastsandsocialmediaposts.
- Helpmaintainpositiverelationshipswithcurrentandprospectivedonors,foundations,and corporate sponsors.
EventCoordination:
- Assistwithplanningandexecutionofdonorcultivationevents,includingexaltsannualspring gala and corporate engagement events.
- Coordinateeventlogistics,invitations,andfollow-upcommunications.
DatabaseManagement:
- ManagedonorandfunderrecordsusingSalesforce,ensuringaccuracyandup-to-dateinformation.
- Generatecustomreportsandanalysestotrackfundraisingprogress.
AdministrativeSupport:
- Organizedepartmentalfilesandmaintainashareddrive.
- Managethedepartmentscalendar,coordinatemeetings,andtrackassociatedreceiptsandexpenses.
- Undertakeotherdutiesasassignedtosupportdevelopmentgoals.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelorsdegree.
- 2-3yearsoffundraisingordevelopmentexperienceinthenonprofitsector.
- Exceptionalwrittenandverbalcommunicationskills.
- Strongorganizationalandtime-managementskillswithattentiontodetail.
- Abilitytoworkindependentlyandcollaborativelyinafast-pacedenvironment.
- Passionforyouthdevelopmentandunderstandingoffundraisingsroleinnonprofitsuccess.
- Willingnesstoworkoccasionaleveningsandweekendsforevents.
Preferred:
- ExperiencewithSalesforceorotherdonormanagementsystems.
- KnowledgeoftheNewYorkCityphilanthropiccommunity.
- FamiliaritywithConstantContactorsimilaremailmarketingplatforms.
- Eventplanningexperience.
- Knowledgeofthegovernmentfundinglandscape.
- Familiaritywiththeyouthjusticefield.
Compensation:
