Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Vaccine Injury Compensation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in VICP litigation. You will manage a caseload of clients seeking compensation under the VICP, handle all aspects of claim development and litigation, and work directly with clients, medical experts, and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent petitioners in cases filed under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
- Conduct client intakes and gather supporting documentation, including medical records and expert reports.
- Draft petitions, motions, legal briefs, and settlement demands.
- Manage communications with opposing counsel (Department of Justice attorneys) and Special Masters.
- Negotiate settlements and prepare cases for evidentiary hearings when necessary.
- Work with medical experts to develop and support claims.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely filing of all legal documents.
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction.
- 2+ years of legal experience in VICP litigation.
- Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
- Excellent organizational and case management abilities.
- Empathy and professionalism in dealing with clients affected by vaccine-related injuries.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and records review.
