About This Role

Agape United Daycare is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic 2-Year-Old Lead Teacher to take the lead in creating a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment for our toddlers.

Our 2-year-olds are busy little learners who are developing their independence, language, social skills, and ability to follow routines. We are looking for a teacher who enjoys getting down on their level, being hands-on, and making learning fun!

As the Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and leading age-appropriate activities, maintaining a consistent daily routine, supporting positive behavior, and helping each child grow and develop. You will also work closely with your classroom team to keep the room organized, clean, safe, and welcoming.



What You'll Do

  • Provide attentive, loving, and responsive care to 2-year-old children
  • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate learning activities
  • Support language, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Establish and maintain a predictable daily classroom routine
  • Encourage independence with age-appropriate tasks and self-help skills
  • Guide children through positive behavior and redirection
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom
  • Communicate professionally with parents and families
  • Complete classroom documentation and daily responsibilities
  • Work as a team with assistant teachers and other staff
  • Follow Agape United Daycare policies, procedures, and safety expectations



Requirements

  • Must meet applicable South Carolina childcare staff requirements for the position
  • Previous experience working with toddlers or young children preferred
  • Ability to safely supervise and actively engage a classroom of 2-year-old children
  • Ability to plan and carry out age-appropriate activities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, dependable, and punctual
  • Patient, nurturing, and able to handle toddler behaviors calmly and professionally
  • Ability to follow classroom routines, daycare policies, and safety procedures
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
  • Must be willing to complete required childcare training and professional development
  • Must be able to pass required background checks and meet all applicable childcare employment requirements



Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Lead Teacher or Primary Teacher
  • Early childhood education coursework, CDA, or related education
  • Experience specifically working with 2-year-olds
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Experience creating weekly lesson plans and classroom activities
  • Knowledge of toddler developmental milestones
  • Experience with positive behavior guidance
  • Strong parent communication skills
  • Creative and enthusiastic when planning activities, crafts, music, movement, and hands-on learning
  • Comfortable working closely with an Assistant Teacher
  • A team-player attitude and willingness to jump in wherever needed
  • Someone who brings energy, patience, consistency, and lots of love into the classroom every day
